چکیده

In the present paper we analyze how divergence in language use across genders has received increasing scholarly attention since late 1960s and –especially– early 1970s. While research on field is of-tentimes based researcher introspection (Lakoff 1973), at this time already find certain scholars that ap-proach matter from a purely empirical perspective (Labov 1966). Since very precursors of gen-der studies, such preliminary analyses were pivotal paving path to more methodological-ly complex insights into gender-language relationship (Nichols 1978, Trudgill 1988, Goodwin 1988). recent years, gender started be regarded as dynamic social construction, which prompted refined methodologies upon idea stylisticvariation occurring within every speaker’s vernacular not random but rather systematic.
